Memberships and Access
The Recreation Center is a controlled-access facility and is intended for use and enjoyment of current University of Louisiana at Lafayette students, faculty, staff, and other authorized members of the University community. Only authorized users are permitted beyond the Front Desk. At this time, Rec Sports does not offer any memberships or guest passes. To see who has access, see the information below. The following policies are in place for anyone entering Bourgeois Hall:
- Appropriate University Cajun Card ID must be presented for entry to Bourgeois Hall and all Rec Sports facilities and activities (no Cajun Card = no Entry)
- Valid Cajun Card for currently enrolled full-time/in-person undergraduate & graduate students, current faculty/staff, and graduate & continuing education students (see below for more information)
- Each student is allowed a one-time “Forgot Card” access if attending an academic class in Bourgeois Hall (this does not pertain to use or participation of Rec Sports facilities or activities)
- Photocopies of the Cajun Card are not acceptable
- Cajun Cards are for the exclusive use of the person named on the card and nontransferable. If presented by anyone other than the rightful owner, Cajun Cards will be confiscated and involved parties subject to disciplinary action. Disciplinary action includes immediate removal or suspension from the Recreation Center and possible further University discipline.
- If the photo, name, and ULID number are not legible on the Cajun Card, or if the Cajun Card does not scan, the card is not valid
- Non-members, suspended members, or expired members are not permitted access to the Recreation Center
UL Lafayette Students
Enrolled in In-Person Programs
Students enrolled in programs that are in-person or hybrid have access to Bourgeois Hall and Rec Sports facilities once they are enrolled in classes and student fees are paid. To access the facility, students must present their Cajun Card (see additional policies above).
Enrolled in Online Programs
Students enrolled in online programs have not paid student fees for various campus services, including Rec Sports. In order to access Bourgeois Hall and Rec Sports, student must purchase the Campus Connection Plan. Any questions should be directed to the Online Programs Staff.
Once a student has purchases the Campus Connection Plan, all of the same policies as in-person students apply.
UL Lafayette Faculty & Staff
All faculty and staff of the University have access to Bourgeois Hall and Rec Sports as a part of employee benefits. The same policies in place for students apply to faculty and staff.
UL Lafayette Faculty & Staff Spouse Pass
Spouse of Faculty & Staff
Spouse Passes are available to Spouses of UL Lafayette Staff & Faculty. For a new membership, both Spouse and University Staff or Faculty must be present and both are required to present picture IDs and a copy of marriage certificate.
- New Spouse Passes are $45 ($25 membership + $20 ID card fee) for the first semester
- Renewal Spouse Passes are $25/semester and must be renewed each semester.
- Fees are due to the Rec Sports Office in Bourgeois Hall as a check (to: UL Lafayette) or exact cash
Spouses of Graduate, Teaching, or Research Assistant
Graduate Assistants can purchase Spouse memberships if they receive a tuition waiver and stipend from the University. For a new membership, both Spouse and University Staff or Faculty must be present and both are required to present picture IDs and a copy of marriage certificate. Graduate Assistants must also bring a letter from their department head on letterhead stating that they receive a tuition waiver and stipend.

Child Access
For their own safety, children are not allowed in Bourgeois Hall. The only acceptions are Family Days sponsored by the UL Rec Sports Aquatic Center or emergency situations when child need to be brought to academic classes and permission has been given by the professor (this is a one-time only exception and children are not allowed anywhere else in the building).
